If you need First Aid in a hurry, contact us as we can arrange at short notice, 1:1 training with you to ensure you get quality education in a timely manner. We can come to you or you can come to us. There is also the flexibility of online workbooks; to be conducted at your convenience and in your own time.

Train the Trainer First Aid

With our experienced First Aid Trainers, we provide RTO professional development programs, to re accredit your RTO trainers. Aaron, Aqualifes owner, will endeavour to do this training personally with his extensive pre hospital and educational experience; to be able to bring realism to training as everything that is taught he has experienced. Case based learning and reflective based practices are central to these professional development programs.

HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid

Information about the course:

Training and assessment delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909

This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

The unit applies to workers who may be required to provide, coordinate and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings.

Course Fees

Public Course Fee for our blended option is $180pp and for our enhanced option is $150pp. Reduced rates apply for Group Bookings. Please contact Aqualife Training for more infomation.

Payment of course fees must be made prior to the course, unless upon the written discretion from Aqualife Training. If there are any unpaid fees at the time of the start of the course, the trainer may refuse entry to the course. Payment can be made (approved methods outlined within the issued invoice) may include credit card (Eway or MYOB payment merchant), direct transfer to bank account, cheque or cash. Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Target audience:

Those who are required to provide an emergency first aid response in a workplace.

Assessment Requirements

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

Entry Requirements

Participants must have the physical capacity to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor.

Assessment Activities

Assessed conducting during face-face training session(s) include:

You will be assessed on performing first aid scenario and task demonstrations for:

-          Infant CPR

-          Adult CPR & defibrillation & use of BVM

-          Anaphylaxis & autoinjector

-          Asthma & medication

-          Choking

-          Turning a casualty on his/her side

-          Bleeding control & shock  

-          PIT for a snake/spider bite

-          Rice for sprain

-          Bandage & sling for fracture

-          Verbal reporting, debriefing and evaluating

-          Manage Infection control requirements

-          Demonstrated safe manual handling techniques

-          Conducted a basic triage for multiple casualty incident

-          Head, neck and spinal injuries (using immobilisation principles)

-          Seizure

-          Located and interpreted workplace policies and procedures

Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions, short answer questions and completion of an incident report form. The student must successfully complete all assessment questions

Award issued:

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment:

  • HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid
  • HLTAID003 Provide first aid
  • HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Initial Course duration:

Mixed Mode: Completion of pre-course study (2 hours) plus 6 hours practical training

Face to Face: 8 hours face to face training

Refresher Course duration:

Mixed Mode: Completion pre-course study (2 hours)  plus 6 hours practical training

Face to Face: Completion pre-course study (30 minuites)  plus 6 hours practical training

Online Delivery with face to face practical assessment 

Self paced online learning with a minium scheduled 60 minuite face to face practical assessment

Aqualife Training reserves the right to cancel course dates if minium student numbers are not reached. Aqualife Training will attempt to give as much notice as practical in this situation. In this case, our Payment, Refund and Transfer policy is enacted.

RPL

Recognition of Prior learning is an individual and as required basis. If you believe you have a qualification or experience that is sufficient, current, authentic and valid contact Aqualife Training and we shall advise you on the application and approval process, which ultimately is up to the discretion of Allens Training Pty Ltd.

 

Re Assessment Proceedure

If a student is deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC) , the following outlines the re assessment process and costs that maybe incurred

Stage 1: Student undertake in-class assessment

-          Student will be notified within 21 days of undertaking an assessment of their performance

Stage 2: Student deemed not Yet Competent in First assessment

Student who are deemed to be Not Yet Competent are to be provided with information identifying the areas in which they failed to achieve competency,

-          Student will then have the opportunity to repeat the assessment task as soon as can be practically arranged with your trainer. Ideally, this would be within 7 days of notification

Stage 3: Student deemed Not Yet Competent in First resit/re-submit

-          If the student is again deemed Not Yet Competent they will be provided with information identify the area in which they failed to achieve competency

-          The student must then participate in a new assessment task within 7 days of notification. An administration fee may be charged to cover the cost of supplying new resources in this case.

Stage 4: Student deemed Not Yet Competent in Second re-sit/re-submit

-          If the student is still unable to demonstrate competency then the student will be required to repeat the unit of component.

-          Re-enrolment fees may be required to be paid to your trainer prior to arranging the repeat of the unit of competency.

-          This will be arranged directly with your trainer.

 

USI -  Unique Student Idenifier

A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a reference number made up of numbers and letters that gives students access to their USI account. A USI will allow an individual's USI account to be linked to the National Vocational Education and Training (VET) Data Collection allowing an individual to see all of their training results from all providers including all completed training units and qualifications.

The USI will make it easier for students to find and collate their VET achievements into a single authenticated transcript. It will also ensure that students' VET records are not lost.

The USI will be is available online and at no cost to the student. This USI will stay with the student for life and be recorded with any nationally recognised VET course that is completed from when the USI comes into effect on 1 January 2015.
